Postdoctoral fellows in the integrative genomic and modeling of metabolic disease
Up to three years of Post-doctoral fellowship is available in the research lab of UMR CNRS 8199 at the European Genomic institute for Diabetes (EGID) in Lille, headed by Professor Philippe Froguel. The recipient will have to investigate the epigenetic mechanisms of diabetes, pregnancy/gestational diabetes and obesity leading in perturbed cell physiology and hyperglycemia. The laboratory has several core facilities including genomics/bio informatics, cell and molecular biology and animal physiology, with long standing expertise in conducting high flying studies aiming to elucidate the genetic and epigenetic components of diabetes and obesity, for identifying new therapeutic strategies and developing a precision medicine. The research is funded by the French National Agency for Research and EGID.
Candidates are required to hold a PhD or MD/PhD degree and to have demonstrated significant achievements in the field of molecular and cell biology of pancreatic islets. Experience on animal laboratory will be very much appreciated. Applicants must have been first authored publications in respected journals. This position provides an excellent opportunity to a highly motivated young researcher to work in a world-class competitive and supportive collaborative environment dedicated to metabolic diseases.
